Sweet Tooth

One of my family’s favorite time is dessert time. We all have a little sweet tooth especially after having a delicious dinner. Since my significant other is a chef we have always been really into creating new dishes at our house. Recently our son has been talking about following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a pastry chef when he grows up.

We are so excited to see him have this new found passion for baking, and it has become a new activity in our house to try new sweet recipes. The most recent thing we made was banana bread. It turned out so moist and delicious, on top of putting our almost expired bananas to use.

I have included the video recipe that we used here:

You would think this should be a healthy(ish) food since it is made from fruit and nuts, but the sugar and butter make it loaded with calories. Over 500 per each slice of bread can add up quickly. This recipe yields a loaf of about 10-12 servings.

Baking with my family has been just as important to me as having a meal with them every day. It is inspiring my son to think of new creative ways to add to the recipes and it is fun to work together to help him succeed in the process, plus you have a sweet treat to enjoy after.

Find something that helps your kids find their passion or interests them enough to want to do it with you again. It is so rewarding to look back on the memories that we have created and I know that your kids will appreciate the time that you take out of your schedule to engage in their world too.

Make sure to share your favorite video recipes in a reply post. See you next week for our latest food adventures!
